There are plenty of true wireless earbuds on the market to choose from, but having more options is better than having too few. Today at CES 2021, Belkin announced the new Soundform Freedom true wireless earbuds. While Belkin may not be the first company you think of when it comes to premium audio, it’s looking to make believers of us all with an impressive new pair of buds.
The Soundform Freedom have the familiar stem-like design popularized by the original AirPods, but these have swappable ear tips for a better fit and sound isolation. Isolation is key when it comes to sound quality as it means that lower notes won’t be drowned out. Furthermore, they have built-in noise cancellation which, depending on how effective it is, can be great for commuters or frequent flyers. They also have an impressive IPX5 water resistance certification so you can use them at the gym without worrying about damaging them.
Belkin claims a solid eight hours of constant playback with an extra 20 hours provided by the charging case. The case itself is small and made of glossy plastic, but it charges via USB-C which is nice. It’s also compatible with any Qi wireless charger. Belkin claims putting the earbuds in the case for just 15 minutes will get you an extra two hours of playback.
The Belkin Soundform Freedom have full compatibility with Apple’s Find My program. That means if you use an iOS device, you can easily find your lost or stolen earbuds via the app.
As of right now, the Belkin Soundform Freedom true wireless earbuds have no pricing availability, but you can expect them to go on sale around April 2021 in either white or black colorways.
