If you’re planning on buying a device in the Galaxy S21 family, the clock is ticking. General sales for the three new flagship phones start tomorrow, January 29. That means today is the last day to get in your pre-orders.

We highly advise getting those pre-orders in due to the high-value freebies Samsung is offering. Depending on which Samsung Galaxy S21 phone you buy, you could earn up to $250 in free Samsung gear. In addition, Samsung is offering very generous trade-in discounts for your old phone that could slash hundreds of dollars from the price of your new Galaxy S21.
Samsung Galaxy S21 pre-order offers
As one would expect, your freebie package gets bigger if you buy the more expensive Galaxy S21 phones. Here’s how it breaks down:
- $100 credit for a Galaxy S21
- $150 credit for a Galaxy S21 Plus
- $200 credit for a Galaxy S21 Ultra
In addition to those credits, you can also earn an extra $50 credit if you remembered to pre-register for the device before the launch. If you did, find that pre-reg email and click the link in there to grab that extra $50. You get the same $50 credit regardless of which phone you buy.

Now, here’s the kicker: you must spend your credit at the same time as when you pre-order the phone. You don’t get a Samsung gift card or anything, you need to pick what you want during checkout. You can spend more than the credit you earn and pay the difference, but if you spend less you don’t get to keep what’s leftover.
The credits apply to all manner of Samsung Galaxy S21 accessories: cases, headphones, cables, chargers, etc. There are also wearables, tablets, and even televisions on offer.
Trade-in discounts
The Samsung Galaxy S21 lineup is much cheaper than last year’s Galaxy S20 family, but they are still pricey. Thankfully, Samsung is giving out massive discounts if you trade in your old phone during checkout.
Trading your old device in couldn’t be simpler. All you need to do is tell Samsung what device you have. Sammy will deduct the applicable cost of that device from your Galaxy S21 purchase instantly. You’ll then get your new phone in the mail. Once you do, you pop your old phone in the box and ship it back to Samsung. Assuming you follow the steps correctly (and didn’t lie about what phone you had and its condition) you’ll be all set. If you don’t follow the instructions, Samsung will then charge your credit card for the credits it gave you earlier. Ouch. Be sure to follow those instructions!
Here are some example phones and their discount value:
- $700 — Galaxy Note 20 or Note 20 Ultra
- $700 — Any Galaxy S20 phone (except FE model)
- $350 — Google Pixel 4 or Pixel 4 XL
- $200 — Any Google Pixel 3 model, including 3a devices
- $700 — Any Apple iPhone 12 device
- $550 — Any Apple iPhone 11 device
